St. Albert Place
Modernizing an iconic building in St. Albert designed by world renowned architect Douglas Cardinal requires a new approach to as-builts.
In response to long needed lifecycle and facility repair needs, the City of St. Albert engaged ACI Architects to provide prime consulting services for the project.
Once ACI determined that the as-built information was lacking, and given the complexity of the form of the building, holo-blok was retained directly by ACI to 3D Scan the entire project and build an as-built Revit model from the scan.
The project highlights unconventional and irregular geometry which would not have been possible to capture without a 3D Laser Scan. Combined with a Revit deliverable, ACI’s project team was able to proceed with their scope with confidence while also de-escalating project risk during construction.
